Multiculturalism in Judaism: An Evening of Music and Art

Jewish artists from racially or ethnically diverse backgrounds and Jews whose work has an emphasis on expanding existing notions of what Jewish "looks" like will celebrate multi-culturalism in Judaism with a one night art exhibit and performance, accompanied by wine, cheese, and schmoozing.

The exhibit will be curated by Anne Hromadka, Program Director of the Jewish Artists Initiative (JAI) and founder of Nu ART Project. Artists will have the opportunity to show their art at a gallery in the Culver City arts district and sell their work at the event.

Be'chol Lashon (In Every Tongue) grows and strengthens the Jewish people through ethnic, cultural, and racial inclusiveness. Be'chol Lashon works towards a more expansive Judaism that particularly engages younger and unaffiliated Jews who want Judaism to reflect the global community in which they live.

IKAR is a Jewish spiritual community that stands at the intersection of spirituality and social justice, a mandate that is integrated into everything we do. Central to the mission of the community is the belief in the vitality and relevance of the Jewish tradition, the fact that it can be compelling and exciting, and the commitment to introduce innovative interpretations into a traditional Jewish framework.

The Jewish Artists Initiative (JAI) is an artist-run organization committed to fostering visual art by Jewish artists and promoting dialogue about Jewish identity and related issues among members of the arts community.
